Braves’ Austin Riley stuns Dodgers with walk-off single in NLCS Game 1

With the game tied at the bottom of ninth, and Ozzie Albies at second base on Saturday, Riley singled to the left field corner to score the racing Albies. Atlanta took a 3-2 lead and the RBI was able to give it a 2-0 win.

Riley finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI. In the fourth inning, he was responsible for the game-tying run by Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin. The game was tied at 2-2 by Riley’s homerun.

Atlanta drew first blood in the first inning. Eddie Rosario scored after Corey Knebel, Los Angeles’ starter, pitched a wild pitch.

The Dodgers tied the game when Chris Taylor scored A.J. Pollock scored A.J. Los Angeles would take a lead of 2-1 in the fourth with Will Smith hitting a single homer.

It was the Braves’ game to win.

After a bad run in baserunning, the Dodgers were unable to score the first inning. Albies scored by scoring Blake Treinen’s winning hit. To score Riley, he would steal second base.

Atlanta takes the 1-0 lead in the National League Championship Series with Game 2 set for Sunday. Max Scherzer will be the Dodgers’ starter, while Ian Anderson will take over for the Braves. Atlanta also won the first two games of the 2020 NLCS before ultimately losing to the Dodgers in seven games.
