Missing Florida woman found dead in South Carolina and car torched miles away

A missing Florida woman was found dead in South Carolina two days after being reported missing.

Sheridan Wahl, a 21-year old woman from Florida, was on a trip to visit her father in Myrtle Beach but never made it to her destination, prompting her mother to post a desperate plea to social media.

” Please help me locate my daughter. Last seen in 300 S. Ocean, Myrtle Beach. Kelly DeArment Wahl last week wrote that she has not heard from her since 1 p.m. and that her phone isn’t picking up. She could be driving from Myrtle Beach back to Tampa. Please let me know if you have seen her. If not, please pray that she returns home safely. “

Sheridan’s body was found behind a fire station Tuesday in Pamplico, South Carolina, with the cause of death yet to be determined.

Sheridan spoke last to her mother via FaceTime just two days prior to being found at the Myrtle Beach shoreline. Sheridan told her mother she would be returning to Tampa, despite her mother asking her to stay another night in order to save her from a lengthy overnight drive. This was the final call between them.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office announced that Sheridan’s car was found burned about 10 miles from where her body was discovered.

” We are devastated to announce the passing of our dear Sheridan Lynne Wahl,” her mother shared on social media. Sheridan was our beloved and loved sister, niece, and friend. Her memory will never be forgotten. “
