Marcia Lucas , The Oscar-winning editor of the first “Star Wars ,” didn’t like Disney’s second trilogy. In an interview with J.W., she said that director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy “don’t get” the storylines and that they “don’t understand it”. Rinzler has written “Howard Kazanjian, A Producer’s Story,” which explores the life of the prolific producer.

“I like Kathleen. She was always a good friend of mine. She had a lot of energy. She was very intelligent and bright. She was a wonderful woman. Frank was a great husband. They were very nice. I think Kathy Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm’s CEO don’t know much about Star Wars. J.J. Abrams writes these stories. I was angry when they killed Han Solo in the movie. They killed Han Solo made me furious. There was absolutely no reason. It was like, “You don’t get to the Jedi Story.” “You don’t get Star Wars’ magic. Are you getting rid Han Solo?” The book also contains the following:

“They have Luke disintegrate. They also killed Han Solo. They also killed Luke Skywalker. They don’t even have Princess Leia. They’re making movies each year. They believe it is important to appeal to women’s audiences so their main character now is a female. She’s said to be able to use Jedi powers but she’s not sure how or who she is. This is a terrible story. It has terrible storylines. It is just terrible. It was awful. You can quote me — ‘J.J. “Abrams, Kathy Kennedy, talk to me,” Lucas said in the book.
